At The Two Counties Trust (TTCT), safeguarding is at the heart of our work. Our safeguarding campaign ensures every student feels safe, supported, and able to speak up when something isn’t right. Each term we focus on a specific safeguarding theme shaped around the needs of our 12,000 students.

This term’s focus is Worried About Your Emotional Wellbeing? – supporting students to understand their emotions, recognise when they are struggling, and know how to access help. The campaign explores why emotional wellbeing matters, how to build resilience, and the importance of talking to a trusted adult when things feel difficult.

The Worried About Your Emotional Wellbeing? campaign is a proactive safeguarding initiative aimed at raising awareness, encouraging open conversations, and ensuring every student feels safe, valued, and heard. It empowers young people to notice how they’re feeling, take small steps to support their wellbeing, and challenge the stigma of staying silent.
This term’s focus is particularly relevant as we aim to:

Raise Awareness: Help students understand what emotional wellbeing is, how it can be affected, and why noticing changes in emotions is important.

Encourage Help‑Seeking: Challenge the idea that emotional struggles should be hidden; reinforce that it’s OK not to be OK, and that asking for help is a strength.

Build Resilience: Teach practical strategies that support healthy coping, such as the S.T.E.P. model, healthy habits, and breaking tasks into manageable steps.

Promote Emotional Safety and Connection: Remind students that they are not alone and that trusted adults, friends, and support services are always available to listen and help.

Throughout the term, assembliesTutor Time, and PSHE lessons explored these themes in depth. Students engaged in discussions, scenario work, reflection activities, and practical strategies aimed at helping them understand their emotions and feel confident seeking support when needed. They were equipped with tools to manage stress, build resilience, and maintain positive emotional wellbeing.

Safeguarding is a collective effort, and by empowering students to talk to their Trusted Adult, we continue to build a safe, supportive, and emotionally healthy Trust community.
