Welcome to Ashfield School’s SEND Local Offer.
Within Ashfield’s Local Offer you will find information in regards to the support we provide for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Ashfield fully endorses the SEND Code of Practice (2014) core principles:
All children and young people are entitled to an education that enables them to make progress so that they:
- Achieve their best
- Become confident individuals living fulfilling lives, and
- Make a successful transition into adulthood, whether into employment, further or higher education or training.
- Special Educational Needs and Disability Code of Practice 0 to 25 years 2014
Ashfield School is fully committed to the inclusion of students with SEND providing that the School is compatible for the child’s age, ability and aptitude and that their attendance is not incompatible with the efficient education of other students in the School and is an efficient use of the Local Authority’s resources.
Our Special Educational Needs provision is led by Sharon Mcara (Head of Inclusion) and Karen Braithwaite (Head of SEN) who can be contacted on 01623 455000 or email:
