Students at Ashfield Post 16 are celebrating today after 26% of all A Level grades awarded were A* or A, meaning one in every four grades achieved was at the very top end of the scale. Staff at the school, part of The Two Counties Trust, have worked closely with students to help them reach their full potential, and are celebrating students across the cohort.
Among the many students celebrating success this morning were a handful whose results stood out in particular:
- Oscar L achieved A*’s in maths, further maths, chemistry and physics and will now study Mathematics at the University of Oxford.
- Lola R achieved A*’s in biology, chemistry and maths and will now study Biosciences at the University of Durham.
- Lucy T achieved A*’s in biology, chemistry and psychology and will now study Dental Therapy at the University of Liverpool.
- Dhenujan Tachieved A*’s in chemistry, maths and physics and will now study Physics with Astrophysics at the University of Manchester.
- George Wachieved a Distinction* in L3 engineering and an A in maths and physics and will now commence a Nuclear Engineering Degree Apprenticeship at Rolls Royce.
- Hana Dachieved an A* in French, an A in biology and chemistry and a B in maths and will now study Medicine at the University of Edinburgh.
