Homework at Ashfield
Ashfield has a whole school approach to KS3 homework. Y7 and Y8 will receive weekly homework consisting of 30 mins of Sparx Maths and 30 mins Reading. In addition, students will use a revision technique to learn knowledge from their 100% sheet for 2 subjects per week, for a class quiz the following week. Optional independent tasks will be available termly per subject to enhance the learning outside of the classroom, develop confidence and self-discipline, check understanding of learning, and ultimately prepare students for success. Collectively. these homework’s should take approximately 2 hours per week.
Set tasks are recorded on students’ ClassCharts calendar. This is an online platform that can be accessed via the student portal on the Ashfield school website or via the app.
Each faculty has their own homework policy for KS4 and KS5. The regularity and style of tasks varies, depending on the subject and at what stage the students are in their learning journey, however students will receive weekly homework’s based on recall tasks and exam questions. Students will complete approximately 30-45mins per week, per subject.
